Le produit « Couche de classes de pente numérique » est présenté sur des bases topographiques à l'échelle de 1/20 000. Il couvre la quasi-totalité du territoire au sud du 52e parallèle. <\/SPAN><\/P>

Cette couverture est générée à partir d'un modèle numérique de terrain préparé à partir des courbes de niveau et de points d'altitude qui proviennent de la carte topographique à l\u2019échelle de 1/20 000 et de la carte topographique à l\u2019échelle de 1/50 000 (fédéral). Cette couverture divise le territoire en polygones selon six classes, soit A, B, C, D, E et F et dont les polygones ont une superficie minimale de 0,5 hectare. <\/SPAN><\/P>

Mise en garde<\/SPAN><\/P>

Le produit « Couche de classes de pente numérique » est un produit de travail et non une couche officielle. Toutefois, pour répondre à la demande de sa clientèle, la Direction des inventaires forestiers offre ce produit, tout en faisant la mise en garde suivante.<\/SPAN><\/P>

Les classes de pente numérique ont été générées dans un contexte de production particulier qui consistait à répondre à des besoins internes. Le degré de précision était acceptable dans ce contexte.<\/SPAN><\/P>

Parmi les quelque 2 536 cartes offertes, certaines ont été réalisées à partir des courbes de niveau à l\u2019échelle de 1/50 000 du gouvernement fédéral (786), et d\u2019autres à partir des courbes de niveau de la carte topographique à l\u2019échelle de 1/20 000 (1750).
